Thank Heaven for Little Girls

Buddy and I have desided that the first day of efurry month is going to be a "Do Good Things" post. Last month, we tolld you about Cats with No Names.

This month we are going to talk abowt Miss Ramona's Big Dream and the Walk for the Animals in New Hampsher.

Miss Ramona of Caturday (isn't she byootiful?) has a furry big heart and a real wish to give back to the community. Because she was rescued by some nise beans and taken furry good care of at a shelter, she wants to help the cats (and even droolers) at the Conway Area Humane Society shelter where her beans volunteer.

Finny was reskewed by some good beans and was in a shelter called SAFE Haven for Cats in Raleigh, Norf Carolina and that's where mom met him and they dopted each other. I am furry lucky that I never lived in a shelter - mom adopted me from my bean before they could send me to a shelter.

So, in honor of Miss Ramona and espeshly our little sisfur Daisy, Finny and I sed we would help Miss Ramona! Daisy came from a shelter ware they didn't take the bestest care of the animals and they din't realize she was sick. So she came to live wif mom and Finny and not long after that, she became furry sick and had to go to the Rainbow Bridge. We hope that all of you other poodins and buns and woofies will start telling about the good beans and groups that are helping animals in yore communities too. That way, we can all help wenever we can, either with money or messages or by spreding the word and befor you know it, all animals will have good homes and be healthy and live long lives!

Miss Trixie

Our deepest sympathies to Miles, Sammy, MeezerMom and MeezerDad on the loss of Princess Trixie. Her brofurs Ralphie and Norton came to take her home yesterday. We know that Miles, Sammy and the beans will miss Trixie furry much, but we also know that they gave her the most specialest gift by taking her pain into their own hearts and letting her be free wif her brofurs at Rainbow Bridge. Thank you for sharing yore wisdom, dignity and grace wif us, Miss Trixie.

Our cousin is Missing!!

Our cousin Gilmore that lives in Durham got owt of the howse this morning when Ant Ree bean was going to werk and she coodn't ketch him and she hadded to go to werk or she woould get in trubbles! So Gilmore has been out all day and it is hot but now it's getting dark and wat if he can't find his way home? And there is a cat who lives owtside there that Gilmore doesn't like and wat if they gets in a fite? Ant Ree bean is putting up flyers wif his pikcher on them and she will keep looking and calling him and his little brofur Grady is crying and sad 'cos he needs his brofur to play wif.

COME HOME GILMORRRRRRRE!!!!

UPDATE - 9:30 pm. He's back! Ant Ree had called in Gramma and Grampa and they went looking in the woods for him wif a flashlite and then they were in the howse and he finely came bak. He's got lots of icky burrs in his long furrs, but he is ok. Thanks for the purrayers.

First...we aksed Miss Yuki and Miss Kimiko to help us name our Squillions becos we wanted them to have the nise Japanese names and they suggested "for the girl kitty (lite grey) we like machiko (ma-chee-ko chee as in cheese and ko as in cocoa) which means fortunate. they was really lucky ars mommy spotted them hiding in the back of the shelter. an furs the boy (dark grey) we like kiyoshi (kee-o-she long o sound) which means quiet. he never mews at all."

We think these names are just purrfect! Kiyoshi reely is furry quiet, he hardly efur sez annyfing and wen he does he has a furry soft voice. Miss Machiko is so furry polite and pretty too, don't you think? We are so glad they came to live wif us! We're gonna send them on some advenchers once they are all settled in.

Looky! We got another packij!! This one sed it was for Buddy and it was from Little Miss Maggie May! He gotted lots of mousies and some jax and a bag of crunchyfoods and a cool toy that you put on a doorknob and it bounces bak and forth - way cool fun! Thanks Miss Maggie May!

Mom stoppt in one of the Green Wall Shelters today and there were 5 kitties from the litter of Squillions there. There were 3 orange kitties and 2 grey ones. There is another Green Wall Shelter neer us too so there may be even more of them up for adoption. So if anycat would like to adopt one, let us know and we will send mom out to get you one.

Beans shood stay HOME on Saturday!!

Mom wented off and left us home alone on Satterday morning. She is not aposed to do that! She is aposed to stay home wif us and do fun stuff like gardening....

and stoopid stuff like londry and vacyooming.

And all the windows shood be open to blow nise fresh air in and let us sniff owtside smells

and sneek owt to chase berdies and Bernard the Wild Bunny.

Hawaiian Relatifs!!!

We compleetly forgot that we haf pikchers of owr aunt and unkle cats! They live wif Grandma and Grampa in Durham. They 'dopted Grandma and Grampa about 2 yeers ago. They were in the same shelter that I (Finny) was in befor I dopted mom bean!

This is Unkle Iz. I bet the Poiland Tribe knows who he is named after!

Unkle Iz was named after a Hawaiian singer bean named Iz!

And this is Aunt Lili - isn't she furry furry beyootiful? She was named after a Hawaiian bean too, but she was a real live queen! Her name was Queen Lili'uokalani.

Iz and Lili are probly reely reel brofur and sisfur, but the beans don't know for sure. They love each other furry much though, and they take care of each other and sleep nise wif each other and play together nise.

We got a PACKIJ!!!

Mom was home sicky today wif a tummyake and it's a good thing becos... *smack* Hey! What was that for Finny?

Be a little more sympathetic, will you? Pore mom feels terribul she keeps falling asleep or running...someware....I'm a gentlecat, so I won't say. Go on, Buddy, and be nise!

OK, pore mom was home today and I'm reely sorry she was sicky, but I'm glad she stayd home and let me and Finny take care of her.

Anywayyyyy...somebean rang the dorebell and wen mom went over there, they was gone but...look wat was owt there!!

I jumped on top of the box right away 'cos I knew it was for me and Buddy! We clawd it and made mom open it up and then we started opening stuff up and boy did we get some coooool stuff!

We got pikcher frames and mom got a note pad wif a kitty on it and notecards wif kitties on 'em too! Ohhhh, what is this??

Not just one, but TWO of the Litter of Squillions from the Green Wall Shelter!!! They din't tell us there names yet, so we thot it wood be nise if our SEcret Paws, those byootiful ladies from Kazokuneko, Miss Yuki and Miss Kimiko, helped us find cool Japanese names for them like they have.

Officer Fred's Career Cut Short

Do you 'member the story of Officer Fred, the kitty who helped catch a purrtend vetty bean?

We are sad to report that yesterday, at his home in Brooklyn, Officer Fred escaped and was killed in a traffic accident. The story is here.

Officer Fred, we salute you for yore bravery. We extend our deepest sympathies to yore bean fambly and assure them that you are happy and waiting for them at Rainbow Bridge.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

1) Only jumps up from the right to sit with mom when she's at the puter
2) Plays fetch but not by carrying the toy in his mouth - he bats it and rolls it to mom
3) If you point your finger at him and say "NO" he cries
4) Gags and backs away if you offer him people food (except milk)
5) NEVER lets mom see him play with his favoritest toy that came with him from New Jersey, but she knows he plays with it because it moves around efurry nite!

Finny -

1) Will let mom rub and kiss his belly, but not brush it
2) Makes mom carry him down the stairs efurry morning
3) Lets mom snuggle him like a stuffed animal when she sleeps at night
4) Has a voice like a rough tough street cat but is reely a big marshmallow
5) One of his ears is always dirty and the other is clean!

More about Cat Houses and Outside

Mom sez I haf to tell the troof. She sez we live in a neyberhood that is bizzy wif cars and droolers and it woodn't be safe for us to go sploring by ourselfs. Hmmphf. I am a brave and advencherous growed-up cat! I'm not a silly little kitten that wandered away from his mama-cat and got chased by bad bean boys and got losted and had to get resskewed...oh wate, I am. Well I'm a growed-up cat NOW.



We do get to go owt sometimes. Like wen mom is being a smartypants and KNOWS we woodn't want to get owr pawsies all wet and yucky.

Sometimes I run owt wen she comes home from werk and she lets me walk a little bit and get a few nibbles of grass, but then she comes and picks me up and holds me upside down like a little babycat! The owtrage!! The shame!!!

HA! But then there was the bestest time efur! Wen Bernard and Mrs. Bernard, the wild bunnies who visit us to eet berd seed grass, came to visit and mom opend the dore so she cood put some carrits owt there. I skweeeezed owt the little space and I went bunny-hunting!!!

I want a cat house

If mom is not going to let me and Finny go owtside wenever we want or get us a cool stroler like owr frend Skeeezix has, then I desided she shood bild us one of these cool houses....

or better yet a hole yard wif grass and climby plases....

..even this one would be good.
